Host a Family

Thank you for your interest in joining our host family program for asylum seekers coming to Brattleboro and the surrounding area in Southern Vermont. Offering housing enables asylum seekers to be released from ICE detention, have a safe place to live after a migrant shelter, and move to an area where they can receive services and legal assistance. Host homes enable us to help more people than our housing funding would otherwise allow. We greatly appreciate you offering your space and allowing us to help more people.

The first step in this process is to fill out the questionnaire below and to provide the names of two people who know you and who can serve as references. After this, you will be contacted for next steps, which include a conversation with a CASP staff person or board member. We must provide confidentiality and safety through all aspects of our support to asylum seekers, which includes a process to vet our host families and their home situation, and to vet new clients and do our best to ensure a good match.

We are currently at capacity, but are always looking for host homes as emergency situations become more frequent. By filling the questionnaire out, you give us the opportunity to match you with an asylum seeker or family that makes sense with your space or lifestyle.
