Sharon Hall-Smith

Executive Director

Sharon became Executive Director of CASP in September 2025. She is a passionate supporter of immigration justice and has both worked and volunteered for a variety of programs serving asylum seekers and refugees.

Most recently, she served as the Resettlement Director of the IRIS(Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services) office in Hartford Connecticut. In her previous position, Sharon has welcomed and supported over 200 refugees each year. She is also a volunteer with the Western Massachusetts Asylum Support Network and has hosted multiple asylum seekers.

Scott Aronowitz

Case Manager

Scott was a teacher in the Brattleboro/Keene area for nearly 20 years. He first became involved with the refugee community as the volunteer coordinator for BAJC’s cosponsor group when ECDC welcomed its first families from Afghanistan to Brattleboro. Prior to his position at CASP,  he served as the Interim Executive Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro after many years on its Board, and was a Peace Corps volunteer and trainer in several countries. Scott is both grateful and excited to be working with CASP.
